Byron Bay is one of many Australians’ favourite places to visit and offers a range of cultural and tourist activities…
After you have explored the sculpture site of artsCape you can follow the walking track to the Byron Cape and the famous Byron Bay lighthouse. You can swim, surf or ocean kayak in the Bay itself or make the most of the marine protection given to the area by seeing the prolific sea life through snorkelling or diving out at Julian Rocks.
There are a variety of live music venues in Byron Bay and while you are in the region it is always worth picking up an events’ guide to see which local or visiting musicians are playing in the bay. You can also check out what community and cultural events are planned for the time of your visit as Byron Bay often offers you unusual access to some very special events.
The area around Byron Bay also offers diverse pleasures. You can enjoy the unique eating out and shopping delights of Bangalow or experience the quiet relaxed feel of Brunswick Heads. Long bushwalks are also an option at one of the three major national parks within a forty minute drive of Byron Bay.
